The Technology faculty consists of 3 departments: Art and Design and Design Technology.
They are all situated on the ground floor near the Newman Building with rooms/workshops specially equipped for Product Design, Food, Textiles, Photography and Art and Design. One of the classroom is a computer room which has technology related software. We also have a colour printer and laser cutting.
Key Stage 3 (years 7, 8)
Students will cover a variety of practical based projects each year in all the specialist Design and Technology areas and will rotate around three different areas - Textiles, Food, and Product Design. In Art lessons, students will work with a range of media.
Key Stage 4 (years 9, 10, 11)
A range of GCSE courses are available in Art and Design to include 3D Design, Fine Art, Textiles, Photography and Food.
Key Stage 5 (years 12, 13)
A Level courses are available in Fine Art, Textiles and 3D Design. These courses are mostly project based and assessed through coursework and examinations [both practical and written]. [Art and Design students will need to complete a Foundation course before leading on to a specialised degree course in this area.]
