Monday 26 February 2024 Sports Results - Week Beginning 26th February Our U16 girls table tennis team had another fantastic year, once again winning the Birmingham Schools Table Tennis 2024 (champions two years running). This culminated in a lovely fixture vs Selly Park Girls school Tuesday evening, where the girls only lost 2 rubbers out of 18, which is fantastic.
Friday 29 September 2023 Sports Results - Week Beginning 25th September Adam was representing Team GB in Holland this week and he had two races after some initial training.
Friday 9 June 2023 Sports Results - Week Beginning 5th June The Inter-Regionals finals is an event for players representing West Midlands at a National LevelWe are pleased to share with you that Agnes 10-TE, Adrian 7-TE and Monica 8-MA all competed and did exceptionally well. Adrian represented West Midlands in the under 13 boys team and in the individual age group events where he completed the first round.
Friday 26 May 2023 Sports Results - Week Beginning 22nd May Adam has had a very successful skiing season, he has finished top three across multiple races, with a number of podium wins! Adam also achieved his aim of ending the 22/23 season and starting the 23/24 season as GB’s top ranked slalom skier (which is Adam’s strongest discipline) and is ranked second place overall across all the disciplines combined.
Friday 19 May 2023 Sports Results - Week Beginning 15th May I was absolutely delighted to hear that our Year 10 boys football team won their semi-final on Tuesday night. As a result, they will be playing their final at Villa Park! Very well done to all the boys and their committed and capable coach.
Friday 24 March 2023 Sports Results - Week Beginning 20th March A huge well done to Erin 8-MA who represented Birmingham this weekend in the West Midlands regional finals for sports hall athletics and won all her events! A hugely impressive feat. Erin and her team are now off to the National Finals on the 1st April! Good luck Erin, we are all cheering for you!
Friday 3 February 2023 Sports Results - Week Beginning 30th January Well Done ReeceA huge congratulations to Reece 13-ABA who competed in the schools’ central zone trampoline championship on 29 January. Reece finished in first place in the boys Cat 1 Elite, and has now progressed through to the national schools competition in March! Well done Reece, all your hard work has paid off and we wish you lots of luck for the finals!
Monday 16 January 2023 Secondary School Level 2 Indoor Athletics Competition at Colmers School On Monday 16th January we took year 7 and 8 teams over to Colmers school to compete in the Birmingham Schools, Secondary School Level 2 Indoor Athletics Competition. At this round, we are competing against all the other schools within the Colmers partnership to win a place at the city-wide finals at the NEC in February.
Thursday 24 November 2022 Level 2 Birmingham School Games - Dance On Thursday 24th November we hosted the Level 2 Dance competition here at STACS. We had a great evening running both the primary and secondary competition. It was a strong field, and the quality of Dance was excellent. In the primary event West Heath Primary School were the 1st place medallists and in the secondary St Thomas Aquinas just pipped the top spot – both of these schools will be going through to compete at the Level 3 al Birmingham finals in January.
Friday 14 October 2022 Netball - October 2022 Netball has started with a bang after a couple of weeks to get our players into the swing of training, and teach some of our year 7s the rules. Fixtures have now well and truly begun.
Wednesday 12 October 2022 Catholic Schools Football Tournament The girls team battled hard in their league matches and managed to qualify for a 3rd place play-off match.

Tuesday 5 July 2022 Athletics - South Birmingham Schools Cup We took a strong team of 41 students to Abbey Stadium on Tuesday to compete against all the other secondary schools in South Birmingham for the illustrious South Birmingham Cup. We have won this cup several times in the past, but it is a hard-fought trophy and not easily won, however with a very strong team, we felt confident of a good placing.
Wednesday 25 May 2022 Aston Villa Foundation Trip to Villa Park Fourteen very lucky students (and two even luckier staff!) were out at Villa Park on Wednesday this week for a once in a lifetime experience. The Foundation has been coming in working and mentoring students and as a reward towards the end of their programme invited 6 schools to take part in a session on the hallowed turf. Walking through the player's entrance, passing the many trophies on display that in year's gone by the Villa have won. Then on through the tunnel onto the field of play to the sound of the trumpets that the professionals have was the start of a special few hours for our STACS Year 8s. As the students warmed up and were split up between the different schools, the Tommy's students did themselves proud throughout the mini football matches, they took part in.
Thursday 17 March 2022 Birmingham Connect Conference Yesterday our students attended their first in person Birmingham Connect conference for the Commonwealth games! They were able to experience new sports and question panels of people within sport! Bring on the games!
Wednesday 9 March 2022 Indoor Athletics at Colmers School On Wednesday 9th March, some of our year 7 and 8 students took part in the indoor athletics school games at Colmers school. Our students did us proud! The girls finished third and the boys finished second! Excellent start to the athletics season!
Tuesday 15 February 2022 Year 11 Girls Basketball League On Tuesday after school, the Year 11 Girls Basketball Team played in a league and remained undefeated for all their matches. Congratulations goes toEva,Mariah,Malaya,Ellie,Keisha and Marisha.
Friday 11 February 2022 Catholic Schools Football Tournament Both teams played incredibly well and were very unlucky to both finish 2nd in their group stages. In a battle for 3rd place for the whole tournament, both the boys and girls team played amazing football but unfortunately lost meaning both teams finished a respectable 4th out of a total of 10 schools.
Monday 7 February 2022 Sports Results - Week Beginning 7th February Our netball teams have had a really strong come back after leagues being cancelled last year due to Covid. We were promoted from the year before up into either Div 1 or Div 2 of the Kings Norton District league, which means we are playing some very high level netball, against some teams with multiple academy level players.
