Open Morning - Saturday 9th october 2021
Due to popular demand, St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is doing another Open Morning on Saturday 9th October.
There is an option to ‘Meet the Principal’ on arrival followed by an individual tour of the school with a member of staff.
Classrooms will empty but there be the opportunity to see all the classrooms and the facilities on offer.
This will be followed by the opportunity to ask any questions of staff and also to complete secondary school admissions application live with advice and guidance
In order to ensure a safe and efficient Open Morning for all we ask that you follow the guidance below:
Each person (parents & children) attending must book a ticket.
Using a booking system is one of our measures to minimise risk. This limits the number of people in the school building at one time and allows us to manage your visit safely. Please do stick to your allotted appointment time once you have booked it.
The full visit will include a ticket for the Headteacher’s Talk and a guided tour through the school via a one way system, escorted by one of our student leaders. Our dedicated staff will be on hand throughout the school to answer any questions you may have.
Proof of COVID Status
To gain entry into the school building you will need to provide either:
- Proof of Vaccination - Both doses received with the second at least 14 days prior to the Open Morning.
- Proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Test - Taken within 48 hours of your arrival at Open Morning
- Proof of natural immunity - Based upon a positive PCR test within 180 days of Open Morning, including 10 days of self-isolation after the result.
Sample Covid Status checks will take place as you arrive for your allocated appointment time.
This is not a ‘Covid Passport’. If you have not had the vaccine then you can take a free test available to pick up from supermarkets or chemists. No-one is excluded and we are happy to answer any questions you have.
NHS Lateral Flow Test
If you are proving your COVID status using a free NHS lateral flow test, this must be taken before arriving at Open Morning and the results registered with confirmation of result shown via email or text. We are not testing at the school gates.
Children do not need to prove their Covid status to gain entry to Open Morning.
This event is open to Year 5 and 6 pupils and their parents and we ask that as far as possible other family members do not attend the Open Morning on this occasion in order to reduce risk to you and those around you.
Government guidance now states that wearing a face mask is a matter of personal choice. We ask that you wear a face mask at Open Morning if you can. Our staff will also be wearing face masks if they can.
We have thought very carefully about the activities running on the evening and adapted them to reduce risk. Hand sanitiser will be available as you enter the school building and will be accessible in classrooms as you move through school on your tour, assisted by one of our prefects.
